Role
We are hiring a Senior Manager of Operations who will support and optimize our business. This high-impact role is cross-functional, participates in key Operations and Product leadership initiatives, and helps the company perform and grow efficiently.
As a key member of our fast-growing wellness start-up, you are highly skilled at managing sourcing, supply chain, 3PL partners, vendors, labs, and general operations at startups. You also have a strong understanding of budgets, forecasting, and inventory planning.
At the heart of this role is the establishment of quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated, and identification of opportunities for ongoing improvement.
This role reports into the CEO and oversees the warehouse personnel.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations including product planning, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and fulfillment.
- Manage suppliers, distributors and other operations-related vendors.
- Support product team in sourcing phase of product development by vetting potential manufacturers and leading select product revisions through purchase order (PO).
- Prepares product POs for all Bloomi products; cross-functionally work with leadership team and CFO/CBO to validate order frequency, new launch orders and PO financing plans.
- Support leadership team set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity; analyze current operational processes, supply chain, and performance, recommending solutions for improvement
- Develop, implement, and monitor process management and consistent reporting systems that provide visibility into goals, metrics, progress, and obstacles for key company initiatives.
- Evaluate and report operating insights on a weekly basis that can be leveraged future-forward into new products, inventory management, and methods of distribution.
- Oversee warehouse team to ensure proper inventory and fulfillment processes are optimized.
- Create cost-improvement strategies, including negotiating rates with vendors, in order to drive optimization across product and operations.
- Support CFO and financial planning in creating a clear roadmap that aligns forecasts with inventory planning.
- Work closely with customer service team to regularly review reviews and provide data-driven recommendations to the product team.
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of professional experience.
- Previous experience working in an operational role at a CPG startup.
- Highly analytical and very detail-oriented and with a check numbers twice working style.
- Demonstrated operational, project management, forecasting and planning skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence decision-making.
- Highly entrepreneurial and able to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
- Expertise with sustainable product practices, product development and management of EDI systems is a plus
- Proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships internally and externally.
